Terms of Service

This Terms of Service Agreement ("Agreement") is made between you and OB, under which you may use the OB platform. By using OB, you agree to these terms.

General Information about OB

OB is a service that allows you to use and share chemistry educational resources, including lab protocols, teaching materials, research data, and other scientific content to improve chemistry education. Your use is subject to OB's Community Guidelines and this Agreement.

Your Use of OB

The contents of OB, including all materials, information, publications, text, documents, databases, data, graphics, molecular models, chemical diagrams, lab procedures, images, charts, photographs, illustrations, audio material, and audiovisual material (the "Content") may be used only as stated below for noncommercial purposes. OB is protected by copyright as a collective work.

You are authorized to use the Content only as follows:

• If you are an educator or researcher: You may download, distribute, display, copy and use the Content, and prepare derivative works (such as modified experiments or teaching materials), only for classroom, instructional, or academic research purposes ("Educational Purposes"). You may allow others to use these materials only for Educational Purposes.
• If you are a student or learner: You may download, copy, and use Content only for personal, noncommercial study unless you obtain prior written permission from OB.
• All users: You must maintain all copyright notices, credits, and attributions, and may not make commercial use of Content.

Additional Restrictions on Use

You agree not to upload, post, or distribute any materials that:

• Contain unsafe, hazardous, or untested chemical procedures
• Violate lab safety standards or ethical research guidelines
• Plagiarize or infringe on scientific copyrights
• Include false or misleading chemical data
• Contain commercial promotions or advertisements
• Include harmful software or malware

Representation and Warranty with Regard to Age

You represent and warrant that you are at least 16 years old.

Submission of Contributions to OB

Users may submit chemistry teaching materials, lab protocols, research data, and other content ("Contributions") under these terms:

• License to OB: You grant OB a perpetual, worldwide license to use your Contributions for educational purposes.
• License to other users: You grant all users rights to use your Contributions as permitted in this Agreement.
• Ownership: You confirm you own or have rights to all submitted content.
• Removal: Requests to remove content should be sent to chemistry_ed@ob.org.

Privacy and Data Security

Your privacy is protected under our Privacy Policy. We implement security measures to protect your data.

Disclaimer of Warranties

OB is provided "as is." We disclaim all warranties about the accuracy or completeness of chemical data and materials.
